Week-end bien occupé et très agréable.

Temps chaud hier, aujourd'hui orage de grosses pluies et de grèle (presque 2cm les boules qui ont blanchi le jardin !). Pas de dégâts apparents, on verra, mais ça fera de l'azote au jardin. Les crapauds sont de sortie. Mais avec la grèle, ils se sont collés sous les pierres de mur en guise de parapluie !
Hier soir avec les amis, j'ai posé la question "Pourquoi on n'a pas entendu les cigales cet été ?" Réponse : "Beaucoup trop chaud, elles n'ont pas survécu". C'est dur. C'est le premier été que je vois cela.

Donc pas de travail au jardin ce jour, finitions de ménage et de rangement, et jeux !
(tant que j'ai du courant !)

Cool day but no heavy rain so far.

This morning I had a good walk, then prepared the meal, did a little tidying up, and since it's not raining, I'm going to go pick the apples.

You're lucky with the mirabelle plums, fakirj. As for me, I didn't get anything from my mirabelle plum tree; the fruit fell, eaten by worms and ants, even though there were plenty of them 😕

With the drop in temperatures, we went from hot to cold in a very short time. 🤨

Our appliances are very noisy, which our pets don't like, but the poor things hear it better than we do. 😢

🙋Hey friends!

Beautiful cool weather and torrential rain in the garden. Since I cleared away the leaves around the base of the olive tree, I can see the olives are growing. I'll have a good harvest in the autumn and quite a bit of preparation to do because of the large quantity. That's great because last year I had very few and my preserves dwindled.
I love preparing olives, and it's a hit with family and friends. Plus, they keep well and even improve with age. I make them with different herbs for appetizers and also brine them for cooking with roasts.
No worries about the roof, fakirj, the tiles are properly reinstalled and secured, and the wisteria is well-trimmed and kept out of the way. I'll give it another good pruning in September. Like at your place, the grass is turning green again and the roses are blooming once more.

I mustered up the courage today to dust, clean, and re-wax the old floor in the main hall. The trusty old Electrolux floor polisher worked well, but Léonie didn't much care for the noise. She puffed herself up like a giant chicken...
Last year, I didn't do it much because Copain was running on the brushes to attack them.
Taking a break tonight, tomorrow I have some furniture to re-wax and I'm off to see my mom. We're going to follow the ultra trail. On Sunday we're going to a flea market and we're having friends over from the village.

The rain is definitely back, it stays dry in the morning and in the afternoon it's torrential rain, my lawn is regaining its color.

I managed to pick the rest of the peaches and my jam is done. I picked everything because they spoil very quickly. As soon as the weather calms down, I'll take care of the apples to make compote; the children love it! 😂
