Our poor animals will appreciate the change in weather. 🐱🦜🙂 The wisteria shouldn't move the tiles too much; if it rains, I'm afraid it might get into your house. 😢 Let's hope for a beautiful autumn so we can do the work we want outside. 😀 Indeed, a 40-year-old garden is a lot of work. 🙂 I love the smell of lavender water, and since mosquitoes don't like it, I appreciate it even more. 🪻🦟😂 Have a good evening, you and Léonie. 🦜
🙋Hey! Hi Paulette! I've been scraping away all the compacted earth for three weeks now, waiting for the rain. I watered with a full jet of water on the soil I had scratched around my rose bushes and plants. My plants and rose bushes are doing better. I deprived myself of showers so as not to consume water outside my garden. Good night 😉
Grey morning and torrential rain this afternoon; the ground can't absorb all that water. It was falling so hard that most of the peaches fell. I went out in the rain to pick about thirty of them—plenty of work ahead for tomorrow! 😉
Sometimes, you lack courage or the desire to undertake something, but it's only temporary. Tomorrow you'll be moving mountains! 😂
Have a good evening, girls 🙋 Lots of cuddles for the animals 😉
🙋Hey again! Oh yes, I forgot to mention the new feature. I'm so fed up with mosquitoes that every time they arrive I say "get lost, mosquitoes"... This morning when I said hello to Léonie... She told me "Get lost, Moustikos kos, kos"... I was feeling a bit unwell...
After her major spring molt, Léonie is very attentive to sounds and my words. She's reusing all the sounds and my repertoire I've learned since she was a baby in 2022 and is even recording new ones, regaining her vocal energy. It's impressive how she can reproduce phrases and sounds she's learned since birth. Needless to say, you shouldn't say just anything in her presence. Especially since she imitates a ringing phone... With that, a big hello 😉
Indeed, Fakirj, the motivation had returned today. I fell asleep over a book a friend wrote, but not out of boredom, it's because I was actually exhausted. We got up around 5 a.m. to air out the house, because the stones had retained too much heat. I had a leisurely lunch - with aches and pains, old age! - then after cleaning Léonie's cage and giving her a bath, it was my turn to wash myself. Then into the kitchen. We had a good lunch. No cod, but julienne in the vegetable stew which was simmering and smelled delicious. Wild prawns as a starter. However, it's still 31 degrees Celsius by noon... the house is 27. Rain is forecast, and a significant drop in temperature too. But I don't see any cumulus clouds down below. My mother had come dressed in her work clothes to tackle the last of the branches. It was impossible to convince her to go out instead of working in the garden... So we finished what was cut. Meanwhile, my brother was on the train to join the UTMB ultra trail.
I love the branch wood that I put at the base of my rose bushes. The remaining pruning and mulching will be done in the autumn.
Not too many new injuries, but my mother has such thin skin that it gets scratched and bleeds a lot because of the Kardegic. It's very alarming. I gave her a leg bath in cool water in a beautiful antique basin I found at a flea market, the same one I use for foot baths every night. She didn't want it; she preferred a hydrogen peroxide compress, which I refused. In the end, it soothed her. We disinfected it after she dried.
Do you have any tips for skin that is like cigarette paper, so thin that a single tear causes impressive bleeding? I told her to apply Cetavlon after washing in the evening. That's what I do in the summer, because I'm starting to have the same problems with sensitive skin.
Okay, I'm going to check my challenges, have a lovely evening! 😉
